Unicorns do exist...

This was my #OOTN from Saturday, which I wore to my lovely friend Amie's 21st birthday ...don't know why I surround myself with all these spring chickens?! Makes me feel well old! ...but they do say you're only as old as the man you're feeling... so fingers crossed 2013 is the year I meet Harry Styles ;) (Michael, if you're reading this I only said that for LOLz).

I decided to wear my gold American Apparel 'Disco Pants', which had been sitting gathering dust in my wardrobe for a good year & a half; with my newly purchased Sparkle & Fade crop top... it's glittery & velvety! Amazing combo or whuuut?! I also got a new tattoo that same day, so had to get that out for the occassion didn't I! I have quite a few large tattoo's on my body but they're easily concealed on a day-to-day basis, and i've been building up the courage to get one on my arm for a while now. When it comes to tattoo's i'm in team YOLO, people always put their two cents worth in and ask the same boring question - 'what about when you're old?' ...like I actually give a shit what my tattoo's are gonna look like when i'm old! I'll be too busy riding the bus round town with my free pass loving that pensioner life duuuhh! ...and anyway... it's a Unicorn, and it has a sparkly eye, and a glittery horn, and it's surrounded by crystals, and it's pink, purple & mint green... so what's not to love?!

I also filmed another YouTube vid to go along side this outfit post, so check that out here!

Crop Top: Sparkle & Fade @ Urban Outfitters | Disco Pants: American Apparel | Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell 'Litas' | Bag: Topshop | Watch: Michael Kors | Bracelet: Thomas Sabo | Choker Necklace: H&M | MAC Lipsticks in Violetta & Saint Germain

The Clothes Show Live 2012

I went to The Clothes Show on Saturday with my lovely sister Sarah (technically she's my boyfriend's sister but I like to call her mine as well), who makes for an amazing photographer/camera woman might I add! ;) We had a fabulous day of shopping & celeb spotting, which are two of my favourite past times... although I don't get to do too much of the latter living in Birmingham.

I took it as a great opportunity to get some good footage and make a start on my YouTube channel; to go alongside my blog. I'm obsessed with watching fashion & beauty videos on YT, and i've wanted to start my own for a good year & a half now. It looks like so much fun and I think it's sometimes easier to get a point across on film than in writing, well for me anyway... as I like to talk a lot! I'm a creative person and I like to learn new things, so starting to make videos & learning the process involved in that will be fun for me. The only reason i've held back from starting a YT channel until now was because of what people might say, but i'm over that now - sticks & stones muthaf**kas! ;) I bought some nice bits and pieces whilst at the Clothes Show, which is all shown in a haul at the end of my video (click here to check it out), please excuse my cringey video voice, it's similar to my work phone voice; which makes me want to vom! I'm also not as serious as I come across on camera but i'm sure i'll relax into it and get a bit more of my cray-cray personality (that's the perfect example of the embarrassing things I say on the reg, which you'll soon discover) on camera in future videos. Oh and I should have probably tidied the room/made the bed before I started filming, so apologies in advance for the mess in the background... don't judge me.

What I wore...

Shirt: Topshop | Jeans: American Apparel | Shoes: Nike Air Max 1's | Glasses: Ray Ban

I love this giant Tatty Devine sugar skull...

I met the lovely Grace Woodward outside of the Suzuki Fashion Arena. She was wearing an amazing HoH dress!

Where does the hat end and my hair begin?!...

Bumped into Harry Styles & Norris from Corrie didn't I!

I hope you've enjoyed this post & it's been a bit of an insight into what The Clothes Show is like. Be sure to check out my video to see the day in more detail & to also see the goodies I got ...and don't forget to subscribe if you want to see more. Enjoy!

Selfridges SS13 Trend Presentation

I was very kindly invited to the Selfridges Birmingham Bloggers Event last week, which I was told would include three of my favourite things EVER - fashion, food & beauty. Needless to say I was very excited! I went along to the event with my friend Lola (who's blog you can check out here), and got chatting to lots of other lovely bloggers whilst I was there. They were such a nice bunch of girls, so sweet and welcoming, and because i'm new to these sorts of events it's always nice when you get chatting to really friendly, like-minded people. We were treated to a glass of champers on arrival up on the 4th floor of the store and given a presentation of all the key trends of SS13. Some trends to look out for if you want to stay ahead of the fash pack are - geometric prints, shiny & sheer fabrics, and masculine meets feminine; with trouser suits making a huge comeback! Also, the trends replacing colour-blocking in SS13 are going to be monocrome and tangerine. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about wearing head-to-toe tangerine though, that might be one I have to miss...!

I actually think I preferred the Menswear SS13 trends more, which isn't unusual for me, as i'm quite partial to a browse around Topman every now and again. The three that stood out to me from Menswear were 'Luxury Street' - which immediately made me think of Ashish. 'The Print Maker' was another key trend I liked the idea of, as i'm from a print designing background and love bold prints on clothing. Then last but not least of my faves was 'Fabric: Shine On' - which suits me perfectly as i'm a total magpie and love anything shiny/glittery! The metallic Acne jacket (shown below) paired with a pair of simple blue denim jeans would be the perfect item for anyone wanting to wear this trend but in a slightly more dressed down way.

My outfit for the event...

Fur collar: H&M | Leather Jacket: Topshop | Mermaid-esque Disco Pants: Motel | Converse: ASOS | Bag: Mulberry

I would absolutely love Santa to bring me a Diego with rose gold hardware for Christmas!

We had a delicious curry at Ithiaas; where I tried Paneer (Indian cheese) for the first time. It has the same sort of consistency of Halloumi, which is probably why I loved it!

Can you believe these Primark Christmas jumpers are Selfridges best-sellers?! Mental!

My favourite thing from the tour of the store we were given has to be House of Holland's latest collection; especially the little Pom-Pom characters on the shirt below! They're just too cute! This is what I love about HH, he is always playful with his clothing, whether it's his hosiery line or his high-end catwalk collections, he always brings that element of fun to his designs.

I spent a little bit of time drooling over Wildfox knits...

I then finished the evening off with a radiance lesson at YSL. The Touche Éclat foundation is fabulous!

The Bull has been dressed like Rudolph for the festive season...

I had an absolutely fabulous evening, and would like to say a big thanks to Selfridges Birmingham & The Bullring for putting on such a brilliant event! I was so pleased with the goodie bag we were given at the end of the night, which included a 'Folli-Follie' bracelet! I've already demolished the champers and chocolate... obvs.
