Company Magazine's Fashion Forum OOTD & YouTube Video

This was my outfit from the Company Magazine Fashion Forum event in Manchester last week. I decided to go for a pretty casual look, but still slightly dressed up with my fave faux-leather trousers. I got street style snapped at the event too, and was beyond excited to see my curly little bonse on the Company website! Hehe!

Company Magazine's Manchester Fashion Forum 2013

I attended Company Magazine's Fashion Forum in Manchester on Thursday; an event created by Company to assist fashion hopefuls, like myself, in bagging that elusive job we all desire! The evening consisted of a panel of fashion industry experts talking us through their careers, how they climbed the fashion ladder, and giving helpful hints & tips on how we can do the same. The panelists were - Victoria White (Company Magazine's Editor), Oonagh Brennan (Company's Associate Fashion Editor), Jen Holmes (Freelance Writer & Blogger), Karen Jones Russell Stylist), Kathryn Kenny (New Look's Senior Digital & Social Content Manager), Brooke Pattison (New Look's Regional Business Manager), and Siobhan King (New Look's Senior Brand Manager). I didn't manage to jot everyone's name down on the night, as I was so swept up in the moment. Most of those I remembered from memory, or I was able to get them off the Company website... but it was bugging me that I couldn't remember the last two ladies names or job titles, and I would have felt rude just putting 'two other panelists from New Look' - so I've just spent the last hour hunting the internet for them. I managed to find Brooke on LinkedIn, as I remember her mentioning she was also involved in the Oxford Summer School programme, and I found Siobhan by googling 'Drapers 30 under 30 New Look'. I sound like a total stalker, and you're probably wondering why i'm telling you this... but one key thing I picked up from the evening is that, as an intern or an employee, you need to make yourself 'indispensable' - and yes it would have been easier for me to not bother listing every member of the panel, but I think it shows determination & dedication - which are both essential qualities if you want to make it in fashion!

#NottsBBMeet

If you follow me on Twitter then you might be aware of my recent trip to Nottingham for the #NottsBBMeet. I absolutely love these blogger meet-ups, as it's a chance to meet like-minded people with similar interests - people who understand why I photograph everything I eat & sometimes say the word 'hashtag' out loud before insulting someone (that last one might just be me hehe!)...

The Ultimate #TGIF Track (It's Not Katy Perry)

It's Friday, and the sun is out - which makes Carmen a very happy little Unicorn! I dunno what your plans are for the rest of the day but I want to immerse myself in glitter & dance in the sun!!! That's unlikely to happen though as this little Cinerella's got dishes to do... I would have totes done that if I didn't though! ;) Anyway, I thought i'd share one of my ultimate sunshine tracks with you all to get you all in the Friday mood...

Coachella Best Dressed - V.Hudge

I've spent my weekend living vicariously through my celebs-at-Coachella filled Instagram feed, and drooling over all the outfit pics they've been uploading. I've always had a soft spot for V.Hudge, and seeing her at a festival doing 'boho-chic' like no other makes me fall for her even more! She has been the stand out fashionista for me this year, and i'd probably have to say the same for last year as well (disregarding the 'melted white chocolate' incident of course).

She's been spotted wearing bindi's recently - which I love!! I spent all of last summer being a total 'bindi cindi'... and I adore floral headdresses, tie-dye & Henna too; so her style is right up my street. Below are some pictures of the outfits Vanessa wore for weekend one of Coachella...

All pictures taken from the Mail Online

She is absolute perfection personified - I adore her! I'm off to Glastonbury this year too, so i'll definitely be taking inspiration from her bohemian outfits... although I have a feeling I won't be wandering round Glasto barefoot! :)

Who were your best dressed celebs at Coachella? I'd love to know!

Discos, Stripes, Denim & Nikes OOTD

Hey bbz!

This was an outfit I wore a few weeks ago for Paddy's Day. As it was an all day ting-a-ling I wanted to keep it pretty casual & comfy. St.Patricks Day is an absolutely huge celebration on the Birmingham calendar... I swear everyone in Birmz is part Irish. Most of my friends are of Irish decent, including my boyfriend, so it is a huge day of drinking (none of the black stuff for me though) & celebrating! I decided to go for my fave outfit combo - disco pants & a crop top - it's my go-to outfit choice! I also wore my vintage Levi jacket, and leopard print Nike Air Max. I was pretty gutted at how destroyed my trainers were by the end of the day, especially since I had only wore them out a few times before... but ahhh well they cleaned up alright in the end.

Heisenberg OOTD

I wore this outfit a good few weeks ago now, but never got round to posting it on my blog or YouTube. It has been one of my most popular Instagram pictures to date so I thought i'd share it with you. It's a pretty psychedelic outfit thanks to the amazing Jac Vanek Heisenberg t-shirt i'm wearing... I love Breaking Bad, and i'm obsessed with anything tie-dye, so as soon as I saw this tee on the gorgeous Jenn from Clothes Encounters I had to make it mine! It's even more vibrant & amazing in real life... I love it! I paired it with my vintage Versace jeans, which are one of my eBay star buys! I think I paid something between £20 - £30, and they fit me perfectly too :) I think my UNIF Hellbounds set this outfit off, and I know a lot of people will disagree but I personally love tie-dye and leopard print together! I feel like this outfit is the perfect mix off 70's & 90's - two of my fave decades for fashion!

Tie-Dye Heisenberg Tee: Jac Vanek | Jeans: Vintage Versace | Shoes: UNIF Hellbounds | Glasses: American Apparel Vintage | Rings: Vicki Marks & Shop Dixi | Earrings: F21 | Necklace: eBay | Bracelet: Thomas Sabo
