KHAKI TRENCH AND RED SUEDE BOOTS

BLOUSE (ZARA) SIMILAR HERE

Red and green is one of my fave colour combinations EVER. Along with red and pink, or anything and red really, I just bladdy LOVE the colour red. No more so than during the winter months; a pop of colour is an outfit essential when the temperature drops - anything to try and brighten up my otherwise black and grey winter wardrobe. There's also something super festive about red and green - they're the ultimate colours of Christmas aren't they?!

I'd been lusting after these Topshop Maggie Flared Heel Boots for the longest time, like wayyy back in August when I first laid eyes on them, and finally thought (after 3 months of deliberating) it was about time I treated myself ...because #YOLO ennit. They so remind me of the Saint Laurent Babies 70 but at a way more affordable and justifiable price, for me anyway. I actually think I might like them a little bit more than the Saint Laurent ones ya know, purely because of the super-chic flared heel.

Of course this ensemble had to be accessorised with my oh-so-gorge Radley London Millbank and the epitome of blogger Christmas cliches - the Starbucks red cup. It's exactly the same shade of red as my boots, it just had to be done didn't it...

I've popped a few different red boot options below, if you're on the hunt for a pair yourself. There's something for everyone... Saint Laurent if you're ballin', Missguided if you're on a budg' and everything in-between.

RED PUFFER - THE JACKET OF THE MOMENT

BERSHKA PUFFER JACKET SIMILAR HERE

As I mentioned in my last post, the puffer / padded jacket is having a real moment RN - spotted all over the AW16 catwalks, namely Vetements and Balenciaga, who also showed us that you should wear it off-the-shoulder or not at all... that's fashurn dahling! *insert information desk emoji here*

Well now it's hit the high-street, in a BIG way... ASOS, Boohoo, Topshop, UO ...you name it, they're all doing their own, way more affordable version, of the must-have jacket of this season.

I'm all about staying warm in the winter months - number one priority these days for this acclimatised Northerner ...and if I can also have the added of bonus of being 'on-trend', on top of being toasty AF, then it's a definite yes from me and something I can totally get on board with ...and by that I mean, where everyday until summer rolls around!

I absolutely LOVE this Bershka number - it's hands down one of the warmest, comfiest things I've ever left the house wearing, and at £39.99 it's also an absolute steal! It comes in a couple of diff' colourways too, including black, which I plan on getting my hands on v. soon...

What do you guys think of the puffer jacket trend? Footy manager or fashionista?

No 197 Chiswick Fire Station

WAREHOUSE FLORAL DRESS SIMILAR HERE

I'm sure you all recognise those dreamy pink suede sofas and that super 'Instagrammable' cacti corner from, well, Instagram...

I'm definitely not the first to post about this place and certainly won't be the last BUT I'm totally cool with being late to the party on this one, I just had to share it with you all.

What once was a fire station (hence the name), refurbished into what can only be described as Pinterest IRL - Chiswick's coolest independent neighbourhood bar and restaurant 'No 197 Chiswick Fire Station' is an absolute must-visit if you're in and around the West London area!

I had to venture pretty far out West to find this little zone 3 gem (my travelcard is strictly zones 1-2) but it was more than worth the extra few quid top-up on my Oyster. I only had time to have a quick coffee this time round, which was v. v. tasty might I add! So I definitely plan on making the long ole trip from Brixton to Chiswick (it's actually not that far, just saying that for dramatic effect) to sample their mouth watering brunch menu soon - the eggs bene' come highly recommended & I think it's pretty reasonably priced as far as London brunch spots go. If you're a little bit more local than I am it might be worth checking it out in the evening too, as I imagine it turns into a pretty vibein' bar later in the day.

The sudden drop in temperature has meant I haven't had this velvet puffer jacket from Next off my back since I got it. You're probably all well aware of this but worth noting the puffer jacker is back in a big way this season - which I for one am absolutely loving! It totally takes me back to the Naf Naf days of the 90's. I'm really into this, this and this one if you're on the hunt for one yourself.

The super talented Maria (the girl behind the lens of these shots) and I plan on visiting all of the pretty coffee & brunch spots London has to offer, so expect more posts of this sort v. soon!

Carmen x
